I tried this procedure and even update my usb drivers but still no detection occurred on windows but only a charging state at the ipod. Under device manager USB controllers there are no errors. I change my PC to an upgraded version and unluckily my Ipod was not detected anymore but on the Ipod status it is displaying a charging status.
